Double DewDewDew
I’ve been wanting to write about Ruby’s language development and quote some of our more enlightening conversations. But as her vocabulary surpasses her brain-to-tongue synapses, it’s become exceedingly difficult to convey the nuance of her lisp or her many dropped syllables without offering parenthetic interpretation. Fortunately, she gave a lovely little performance for me tonight after dinner. But this girl is no circus animal: She will not perform on command. She’ll do what she wants to do when she wants to do it. I have no idea where she gets it.
“…next one sing it me!”
Yay!
I love the letter W! It’s nice to hear all of your voices!
double dewdewdew is the best ever!
I like the ELLL emmenno PEE!
glad you guys like it! susan, i like that part, too, but i couldn’t quite get how she says it in order to write it verbatim. but she definitely touches her tongue to her chin on the exaggerated ELLLLLL.
the cuteness just doesn’t stop
oh. as girlish would say, that made my eyes cry happy tears. Boyish has a little lisp, too, which I love. Tho thweet, and such a pleasure to hear your voice, and hers.
Good lord Aaryn, that completely ended me.
one of the sweetest thing in the world, a child singing voice. and that one just cracks me up!
that is among one of the cutest things i have ever seen!
love the WWwwwwww!! Totally cool to hear all your voices too.

Oh my fucking goodness. I can’t wait to show the kids. Just last night Supergirl was telling me she missed Ruby. She also said Ruby’s hair was cooler than hers.
You hanging in there?
xo
Awesome.
June! July!
So awesome. My son has made me let him watch Ruby’s video about six times in a row already! xo
Showed it to Maeve, who was beaming the entire time. When it ended, she got all sad and asked “What happen?”
She wanted to sing again with her.
And the double dewdewdew is friggin’ awesome.
Totally adorable! My youngest, who is two, has a bit of a lisp. And even though I guess it qualifies as a “speech impediment,” I find myself hoping it becomes stronger. She’s also my only thumb sucker; I wonder if there’s a connection. Does Ruby suck her thumb?
I love it so much! She rocks! I have to go watch it one more time. I just want to smooch on that little face!
Laugh out loud cuteness! Just what I needed! Reminded me of a recording we did of Steve at about that age. He couldn’t get N in there. Ruby’s version is precious!
Too sweet! I cried tears of happiness, laughter and disblief that our tiny little Rooby Dooby already knows her ABC’s.
Cherish the “double dewdewdew’s” while they last. I wept a tiny tear of sadness yesterday when V told us her favorite color was “yellow,” not “lellow.”
Apparently I cry a lot. Who knew?
She is absolutely beautiful.
this might be the cutest thing I’ve seen. ever.
She is so adorable!
dear god, that’s adorable. Double dewdewdew is of COURSE how you pronounce W! Love it, love her.len
The best thing everever ever – better than my 3-week vacation. Ruby es la reina de ABC’s, xoxo, YFGM
I am so in love with this child that I can hardly stand it! She is a star! An absolutely loving and shining star! Double dew dew dew! Music to my ears! Its so good to put a voice to that adorable face!
)
oh my gosh! how amazing is it to actually hear her speak-all the photos i’ve seen don’t do her justice!
Oh my goodness, this was so awesomely cute. “Double-doobee-doo.” LOL. Thanks for posting this. It was really nice to hear ya’ll voices as well. Yours sounded slightly more youthful(?) than I imagined, but Sam’s sounded exactly how I thought. Weird.
