Just Call Me Laura
Heather Armstrong of Dooce (or Shit Ass Ho Motherfucker) fame had the following video up on her blog this past December. I know it’s SWF-lame not to go out and find my own schtick but let me just say that imitiation is the highest form of ass kissing flattery.
But here’s the deal: Sam is suffering from a never-ending virus and will undergo the very-difficult-to-schedule vasectomy this Friday. It’s a back-to-back bludgeoning. His sorry—though rather perfect—ass has been and will continue to be, planted on the couch a mere few inches from mine, where I’ll continue to be alternately engrossed in my book, resenting the constant interruptions and ready to attend to his every need with Nurse Ratchedesque compassion and sympathy. Given the circumstances, I thought it would be appropriate to share this short clip again.

When I sent him that video, my husband was personally offended by the characterization. He has no idea what we’re all talking about, poor little bunny.

I think Sam is a bit put off by it as well. But now it’s become a joke around our house. He calls to me in a breathy, English-accented voice and I come quickly to my poor little bunny.
The other clips are really fantastic.
That’s my problem! I get Man Colds! Even though I am a woman. And that’s why I get extra whiny and must tell my spouse every 5 seconds how bad I feel or how tired I am and ask for lots of soup and lots of head stroking.
Or maybe, I’m a man trapped in a woman’s body.
I’ll just stick to the Man Cold theory for now.
