My most recent attempt at adoption conversation
Me: Do you know where babies come from, Ruby?
Ruby: Yah…?
Me: Where, honey? Where do babies grow?
Ruby: Laura’s tummy!
Me: Well, Alex’s mom did just have a baby grow in her tummy. You’re right. But…did you grow in Laura’s tummy?
Ruby: Nooooooooooo!
Me: Who’s tummy did you grow in?
Ruby: Ella’s!
mmh. it seems like she’s not quite “there” yet
As much as they can understand–isn’t that what they say?
Definitely on the right track, tho.

I think that’s a fantastic place to start. I have no personal experience with adoption but it seems to me that it really is best to give the child as much information as they can handle about who they are and where they come from. Just like any other child.
I’m so glad you put this up, when you told me about it yesterday I got a good laugh
You guys are doing great- keep it up!
Wag that little tail Ruby!
Ella would make a lovely womb for little (furry) ones though.
Well, Ruby and Ella are an adorable team.
