I’ve poured the Kool Aid, and I’m thirsty but I haven’t taken a sip just yet. I’m not sure why. I will definitely need to drink up or die of dehydration since November will be here before we know it.

I too am terrified for what November may bring. But without hope and the strength to keep moving in the right direction, we have nothing else.

Sasha and Malia Obama are not only adorable, but already serve as wonderful role models for Ruby. They were on stage, shouting, “WHAT CITY ARE YOU IN DADDY?” and my ovaries pulsated at the sound of their voices. And tears welled in my eyes as I watched a black family on the stage at the DNC. We HAVE come a long way … we just need to keep on truckin’!

Yeah, baby, hope is a dangerous and beautiful thing, isn’t it? I’m right there with you, hoping that America will not disappoint, and willing to go out on a limb for Obama (and risk falling splat! on the pavement beneath it) for the potential joy I might feel if we manage to elect him.
