She’s growing

I went out for drinks with the girls tonight and came home to this:

This is especially extra adorably good.

And totally worth all those nights when she didn’t sleep. Especially after a bottomless glass of wine and good conversation and no judgment when I admitted—to my embarassment—that I’m reading the wholly horrible “Twilight.” I’m giving it until page 75 before I abort mission.

I’m glad to hear someone else is in the same boat. Regarding Twilight, that is. My friends and I saw the movie (for free, I might add) and thought it was so horribly laughable that we mock it daily. But then out of sheer curiosity, and the idea that I would make a fair judgment of the book and THEN mock it, I decided to start reading. I was horrified with myself when I reached page 250 and actually didn’t want to put the book down. I’m still too damn embarrassed to admit this to anyone. How sad is it that I kept the book in my purse 24/7 rather than EVER take it out? Heh.

My heart melts every time I watch my son sleep. Its as if the whole world around us is at peace.
Ruby is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

  • aaryn-Thanks for the link. When you give up on Twilight (and you should), pick up Elizabeth Kostova’s The Historian. Incredible prose, deeply layered suspense. That’s what vampire stories should be like.

I just can’t give in to the Twilight fad yet but everyone is NUTS over them.. Your daughter is beautiful!
